I despise buying groceries. No matter how hard I try, I always manage to shop when I'm hungry. Sometimes, this ends in spontaneous purchases that I had no intention of buying. I've also learned not to take my children with me to the grocery store, because this also ends in more spontaneous purchases. Usually, I go to the store right after I drop the boys off at school, which is around 8AM. Needless to say, I am not a morning person. One app on my phone that I cannot stop raving about to everyone that I meet is the ibotta app. Usually at 8 o'clock in the morning I either forget my shopping list, or I forget my coupons. The ibotta app actually saves my shopping list for me whenever I "unlock" the rebates for the items that I am going to buy. To unlock rebates is super easy and consists of answering a short poll or learning about the product.
There are many different stores on the ibotta app and most of the stores have up to $100 in rebates available. If you shop at Just Save or Lowes Foods like myself, then you do not even have to upload a receipt after your purchase. Just link your store rewards card and your purchases will automatically be credited. It takes about a day for the rebates to post to your account. But the awesome thing that I love about ibotta, as opposed to other shopping rewards apps, is the fact that you can cash out to Paypal with a minimum of $5. When Shane and I went to Chili's to eat the other night I was delighted to see that Chili's had rebates on ibotta as well.
I love saving my ideas for saving money and the ibotta app is at the top of my list! Click here to check out the app or email this post to yourself and read it later from your phone.

Starting Out
There are more people than you realize who are interested in working from home. I get asked a lot what type of work that I do, and for advice on how they can get started. A few years ago, I worked from home as a freelance writer. I also did various other odd jobs on the computer. When I found myself unemployed, and realized how much I needed to be home for my children after school, I decided to give it a go again. Hence, this blog. Now, when anyone asks for my advice, I can direct them here, and everyone can benefit from it. Most people react to me telling them I work from home in one of two ways. A small portion of them will say: "You mean you are a homemaker, right?". While being a Mom is a full-time job, I do a lot more than keep the home up. The rest of the bunch will get very excited and want to know more information on how they can also make money at home.
First, go forth knowing that you will not make a ton of money. You also have to have many different eggs in your basket, so to speak, in order to supplement the amount of money that you want to make. Everyone is different as far as their preferences, family schedules, etc. So what works for me, might not work for you. However, I am an open book, so this is what works for me: shopping rewards, consumer opinion(survey) panels, drop shipping products on Ebay, buying high-end products at thrift stores and flipping them for money on Ebay or Amazon, app rewards websites, secret shopping...and the list goes on. I am not going to be able to give all of my tips in one post, so I am going to break it down into several. Today, I am going to make it simple.
Your first step is to separate your personal email from your work-at-home email. Several of the money-making sites that I am going to share with you later, will require you to sign up for FREE offers that you will need an email for. To prevent spam in your personal email, it is a lot easier to have a separate email. Also, you need to go and make a Paypal account if you have not already done so. When you sign up for Paypal, use the new email address that you have made. The reason being that many of the websites you sign up for, will only pay you via the Paypal email. You can upgrade your Paypal to a business or premier account for free and receive a debit card to use. This is much easier to use.
Until next time!
